Sometime between October 22, 1929 and November 1, 1929, the Security Printing Press of Nasik, India produced a series of airmail stamps to be used on letter mail to England. These were supposedly first postally used November 12, 1929, although letters to England, dated October 22, 1929 are extant.

Sometime around July last year, not long after WM Media was started, I started performing a little experiment. “How long would it take to get a website up to a pagerank of 5?” I wondered. To answer that question, I created a rare and famous stamps website.
Growing up, I had some interest in collecting stamps, so there is some familiarity with this topic. Over the course of a week or so, I researched the various rare stamps and built the website. Then, I went out to related websites and exchanged links, promoted on forums, etc. After only about a week, my website was already #1 for the search term “famous stamps” on Google!
Of course, not a whole lot of people actually search for “famous stamps”, maybe a grand total of 2 or 3 visitors per day! Nevertheless, I was happy at my accomplishment! Next, I decided to try harder and go for the term “rare stamps”. That one took a lot more effort, but it did eventually pay off as I hit #1 for “rare stamps” a few months later. Eventually, I also promoted the site for “postage stamps” and now, “stamps”.
That’s actually going pretty well, as the website is #4 for “postage stamps” on Google, and page 3 for “stamps”. Bright future ahead!

Printing postage online can be an easy and economical alternative to making daily or weekly trips to the post office. Whether you wish to send letters or parcels, it is advantageous to use online services since there will be an increase in stamps as well as Priority Mail and Express Mail scheduled for May 12, 2008.
In addition, the United Postal Service will also be implementing two new shipping services that will be more cost-effective. The first is called “Parcel Select,” which will offer special pricing for packages that are considered medium and large. The second shipping service is “Parcel Return Service,” which is designed to reduce the price for packages that are lighter in weight.
The current 41 cent stamp, also known as the “Forever Stamp,” was implemented so that any future rise in the cost of first class stamps would not apply. However, on May 12th, the cost of first class stamps will increase to 42 cents. But, as long as you utilize the “Forever Stamps,” you will not have to add an additional penny stamp. It should also be noted that currently, there are only five million “Forever Stamps” available.
While utilizing postage online is a feature that allows for exact postage to be determined, and considering the impending rate change, printing postage stamps will afford you the opportunity to post letters and packages for your business needs as well.

Postage stamps were first issued in Great Britain in 1840. The practice soon became common all over the world to show that the postage had been paid on a piece of mail. A stamp is a sticker attached to the top right hand corner of an envelope or package. Since stamps are in different denominations, if a piece of mail is larger or heavier than a standard size letter, several stamps may need to be attached. In order to send any mail through the postal service, you must buy these stamps and affix them to the mail. You can buy envelopes with the stamps already attached or you can buy sheets or rolls of stamps from which you select the ones you need.
Stamps are not always rectangular in shape. There are triangular and circular designs available and even pentagonal. The first countries to use adhesive stamps, which were invented by an English schoolteacher, Sir Rowland Hill, were Sierra Leone and Tonga, which were actually in the shape of fruit. The stamp used by Bhutan is very unusual in that it contains the national anthem on a playable record. The most common material used for issuing stamps is paper, but some have been embossed with gold and in Switzerland, one type of stamp was made from lace.

When the USPS allowed customers to print postage stamps from online sources, they opened up a whole new world. Almost everyone has a need for postage at one point or another. It is safe to say that everyone will use at least one stamp in their lifetime. Before online postage a person had to go to the post office or other approved retailer to get a postage stamp. Sometimes this could be rather inconvenient and even annoying. With the availability to print postage stamps at home people are finding postage is no longer adding another errand to their day. They can easily and quickly get the postage they need right in the comfort of their own home.
There has been a way to print postage stamps for quite some time. Postage meters allow a person to print their own postage, too. These meters, though, cost a rental fee and are usually only found in businesses where the rental cost is outweighed by the amount of postage needed. In a home setting the person probably would not need enough postage to make this option reasonable. In addition, the postage meter has to be loaded at the post office when it runs out. What this means is that the meter owner puts a certain amount of postage on the machine and once it is used more has to be bought. This can be just as big of a hassle as running to the post office to purchase postage.
Online postage allows a person to print postage stamps without needing special equipment or having to ever visit the post office. There are a variety of postage sites that sell online postage. All a person needs to do is go to the website, purchase their postage and then print it on their home computer. It really is that simple.
The ability to print postage stamps has never been so easy. People have busy lives today and having this new convenience is greatly appreciated. Many people use these online postage services and have even printed their own postage today.

Trying to organize your office for your home business can be quite a task. Some people just don’t bother, and spread everything around the kitchen table, or work out of their car.
I am sure you have seen those cars, they are the ones with everything jammed down by the windshield, fading in the sun, and the driver talking on a cell phone, while trying to manouver through traffic.
I finally organized a nice spot in my house, and then I realized just how much time I spend at the post office. I finally decided to download my postage and it has saved me hours.

The Nature of Rare Collectibles.
As their name suggests, all rare collectibles are scarce, hard to find items. They can be antiques that are desirable because of their age, type of craftsmanship or some other unique feature that represents the past. Some rare collectibles are so old that they are considered to be antiquities - artifacts of an ancient civilization such as ancient Greek or ancient Chinese society. Alternatively, rare collectibles can be of very recent origin, sometimes being only a few years old.
The common denominator of all rare collectibles, no matter what their type or age, is rarity. Frequently, because of their scarcity and their appeal, rare collectibles are also valuable. But whether they are valuable or inexpensive, rare collectibles are always important pieces in a collection.
Rare is …

French punitive expedition against Algiers pirates in 1830 led, after some indecision, to a war of conquest in 1840-8. A period of pacification followed until 1871 and then a period of peace in 1872-90 before the conquest of the Saharan oases. The early history and hence also postal history is military: civil administration did not begin until 1848, was not widespread until 1871, and only reached the desert provinces in 1902. Rivalry between military and civil authority extended to postal matters. The European population, c.600 in 1830, exceeded 10,000 in 1835 and 100,000 soon after 1845. Before 1881 there were more than 320,000 Europeans, and provision of state primary schools for the native population had begun. A declaration that Algeria was to become an integral province of France led to open war on 1 November 1954 between Algerians and French troops backed by settlers, which lasted until a cease-fire on 18 March 1962. By referendum Algeria became independent on 3 July 1962.

Posted to London England on Nov 14, 1923 with a total of 40 Milliarden (40,000,000,000) Marks, paying the international letter rate for up to 20 grams set as of Nov 12. Franked with 20 x 2 Milliarden Marks stamps.
During the post-WWI years, the value of the German mark steadily deteriorated, largely as a result of reparations payments and the savage penalties imposed on German trade. Faced with budgetary deficits, governments followed a practice of issuing more money to meet expenses. The result was a runaway inflation more severe than that experienced in any other part of Europe. During 1922, the value of the Mark in US dollars fell from 162 marks to more than 7,000 marks (the pre-1914 relationship had been 4.2 marks to the dollar).
